See some other local events that Breakaway Club members will be attending.
First of all a warm welcome to our most recent members who are Barbara, Ron, David, Rosemary, Hilary and Linda
Friday 2nd May Darts Night at The Charles Dickens, but in the bar on the ground floor. Arrive in time to go off the oche at 8.15pm. There will be a rolls/sandwiches supper at half time so please put your name down on the notice board so there will be enough for every one. Thanks.
Tuesday 6th May 8.30 – 11pm it’s Quiz Night at the Charles Dickens. For those who would like to take part it is 50p per person to enter – chum up with a friend, two heads are better than one! The winners take all collected as their prize. If you’re not in the mood for having to think, then just have a drink and socialise or burn off some calories with a dance. There will be the usual raffle and chance to win the door prize or snowball if you are a member.

Tuesday 13th May 8.30 – 11pm Club Night. Our last night here for a few weeks. Next week we will meet at The Farmers in Lancing so come along tonight and see if perhaps you could offer a lift to someone. Maybe arrange to car share or take turns in driving for the few weeks we will be there. However you get there, we hope to see as many of you as is possible.
Sunday 18th May Walkies! It’s only about 8 miles today! Meet in the top car park at Highdown Hill at 10am. Bring a picnic, drink etc. (Tel. Keith for more info) More info...
Tuesday 20th May 8.30 – 11pm Our first Club Night at The Farmers in Lancing. Entry will be free to all, and alongside the usual nibbles there will be extras such as cheese and pineapple, sausages etc. The format of the evening will be the same as usual so come along and let’s make merry in Lancing for a change!
Tuesday 27th May 8.30 – 11pm Club Night at The Farmers in Lancing. Whilst we are there the entrance fee will be only £1. We will have music to dance to, the usual raffle and chance to win the door prize or snowball if you are a member.
Saturday 31st May an evening of Alley Skittles at The Black Horse, Findon. The club will pay the £50 for hire of the room and for those who wish to eat it will be £6.50 a head for the buffet. It is dearer than the Maypole at Yapton, but those who had been before were disappointed with the standard of the buffet on our last visit there.
The charity disco in aid of St. Barnabus Hospice on the 29th March, made a profit of £370 and Glyn who organised it would like to thank everyone for their support and hoped that you enjoyed yourselves.
FORTHCOMING EVENTS
As the Charles Dickens is being refurbished (see notice board for details), the June Darts Night will be held at the Locomotive in Littlehampton. The proposed date is the 13th Jun. Watch the notice board for details.
In June we will have our first Pitch and Putt game. Ill see if I can arrange a window of sunshine like I did when we had our canal trip! OK. It was good luck!!!!!
You can decide how much of a day out you would like. After playing, those who would like to can have lunch at the Black Rabbit then round off the day with a stroll around Swanbourne Lake, or you can go home at any stage: it’s up to you. The date is to be arranged for the 8th or 15th so watch your notice board.
There’s Green Bowls too! This to be arranged in Littlehampton for the end of June. Club will subsidise by paying for the hire of woods (bowls). Perhaps follow up with a fish and chip supper. Watch your notice board for details.
