March 2019 Programme


The Breakaway Club regular Tuesday club nights are held in the function room in The John Selden, Half Moon Lane, Salvington, Worthing, BN13 2EN. Just come in through the Half Moon Lane entrance and walk to the right of the bar through to the function room at the end of the passage. The doors will be open from 8pm.


Please remember entry is £2.50 for members and £3.50 for non-members (free if this is your first visit to the club). Thank you.

Friday 1st March: Ten Pin Bowling on the first Friday of the month. Meet in the bar at Worthing Bowl at 8pm. £11.35 for two games. Contact Glyn if you would like to go.

Sunday 3rd March:
Sunday Lunch at the Pavilion Bowls Club, Worthing. Meet 1.15pm for 1.30pm start. £7.50 for a one-course meal or £10 for a two-course meal. Check with Enid to see if there are any places left.

Tuesday 5th March: Horsey Racing Game on Club Night at the John Selden. Doors open 8pm until 11pm. This very popular and fun game lasts for about half an hour. The stakes are pegged to £1 a horse, so you can’t go broke! And you might go home a winner! And there will still be plenty of time for talking to friends and dancing to the music of one of our own DJs. Usual raffle, door prize and Snowball.

Tuesday 12th March: Club Night at the John Selden. Doors open 8pm until 11pm. Come on down to meet friends and dance to the music of one of our own DJs. Usual raffle, door prize and Snowball.

Friday 15th March: Darts Night at the John Selden. Come along to watch or play – you don’t have to be an expert to enjoy this darts evening as it’s a very sociable event! Meet at 8pm. Costs £1 to play, with the monies going into the prizes. Names on list please, or contact Enid on the above number for more details.

Tuesday 19th March: Bingo on Club Night at the John Selden. Doors open 8pm until 11pm. This short Bingo session lasts for about half an hour. It costs £1 a time, and there are prizes for lines as well as the full house, so multiple winners! And there will still be plenty of time to meet friends and dance to the music of one of our own DJs. Usual raffle, door prize and Snowball.

Tuesday 26th March: Club Night at the John Selden. Doors open 8pm until 11pm. Meet up with your Breakaway friends and dance to the music of one of our own DJs. Usual raffle, door prize and Snowball. April programme available tonight.

Friday 29th March: Arun Solos Disco at Arundel Cricket Club. Cheap drinks and a popular venue with Breakaway members. Starts 8pm until 11.30pm. Cost £7 on the door.

Forthcoming Events

Tuesday 2nd April: Richard’s Quiz. General knowledge quiz with Richard’s hallmark puzzles and picture quiz!

Sunday 7th April: Hilary’s Ditchling Walk. Meet at 1.30pm in the free car park behind Ditchling Village Hall (more parking in Lewes Road). A walk around the village will be followed by tea and cakes at Notcutts Garden Centre. If you would like to go, please put your name on the list, or contact Hilary.

Tuesday 16th April: Grand Easter Raffle Lots of lovely prizes to choose from! Just £1 a number. Someone will be coming round with the number board on Club nights, so make sure you get your number – or numbers – as soon as possible!

Thursday 18th April: Arundel Jailhouse Blues Night. If you like good music, performed brilliantly – this is for you! Doors open 8pm. The venue is just off Arundel High Street (down Duke’s Path). £8 per person. Please put your names on the list as soon as possible, so that Phil can book the tickets in good time, or contact Phil.

Tuesday 23rd April: Bring and Buy Sale on Club Night at the John Selden. If you have anything to bring in to sell, please make sure that it is clean and in nearly new condition, including any books you might have. More details later.
