July 2019 Programme

Dear Members, please note that we cannot have the first Tuesday of each month at the Charles Dickens, so we will be meeting there only on the last three or four Tuesdays of the month.

Friday 5th July Ten Pin Bowling on the first Friday of the month. Meet in the bar at Worthing Bowl at 8pm. £11.35 for two games. Contact Glyn if you would like to go.

Sunday 7th July Skittles at the Black Horse, Findon. 7.30pm start. Please contact Glyn if you would like to go.
Also
Sunday 7th July Hilary’s Shoreham Houseboats Walk. A short stroll along the river bank to see some of the weird and wacky things that people do to their houseboats, followed by tea and cakes at Teddy’s Tearooms. Meet at Shoreham Recreation Ground Car Park (BN43 5LT), at 1.30pm. See poster on the noticeboard or contact Hilary for more details.

Tuesday 9th July Ray’s ‘Horsey’ Racing Game on Club Night at the Charles Dickens. All the excitement of the track, as we cheer our ‘horses’ on. Bets are pegged at £1, so you can’t lose your shirt! And you might just go home a winner! Doors open 8pm until 11pm. The game is only on for about half an hour, so plenty of time to meet friends and dance to the music of one of our own DJs. Usual raffle, door prize and Snowball.

Saturday 13th July Breakaway’s Super Summer Party at the Pavilion Bowls Club. Good news! – there is a ‘cure for the summertime blues’ – come along to Breakaway’s Summer Party! There will be a finger buffet and dancing to our own DJ. Costs £12 per person. 7.30pm to 11pm. The tickets will be Lucky Number tickets, so keep them safe! If you have already put your name on the list, please let us have the monies as soon as possible, to make sure of your place.

Tuesday 16th July Club Night at the Charles Dickens. Doors open 8pm until 11pm. Tonight we have all night to chat to friends and dance to the music of one of our own DJs. Usual raffle, door prize and Snowball.

Sunday 21st July Canal Trip on the Wey and Arun Canal at Loxwood, Billingshhurst, RH14 0RD. As we all know, there is “absolutely nothing half so much worth doing, as simply messing about in boats”, so put your name on the noticeboard list, as soon as possible, if you want to go. Meet at the Onslow Arms (just behind the canal boat moorings), at 11.45am, if you want a Sunday Lunch. Please note that you will need to book this lunch in advance on 01403 752022). The boat trip itself starts at 1.15pm. £10 pp. More details on the noticeboard or contact Phil.

Tuesday 23rd July Ray’s Knockout Kard Game on Club Night at the Charles Dickens. Doors open 8pm to 11pm. This game of pure chance takes about half an hour, requires no skill whatsoever, and may net you a few ‘bob’! What’s not to like? Costs £1 for two games with four chances to be a winner!
