Breaking News!
Dear Members, please note that we are now back at the John Selden with effect from Tuesday 8th October, which coincides with Breakaway’s AGM (see below). We will only be having the last three or four Tuesdays of each month there, so no Club Nights on the first Tuesday of each month. Please also note the new finishing time of 10.45pm.
Tuesday 1st October NO BREAKAWAY CLUB NIGHT.
Friday 4th October Ten Pin Bowling on the first Friday of the month. Meet in the bar at Worthing Bowl at 8pm. £11.35 for two games. Contact Glyn if you would like to go.
Saturday 5th October Skittles at the Maypole, Yapton. Please put your name down on the list if you would like to go. This usually very popular, sociable and fun event includes a meal in a basket (see poster for menu choices). The cost is £12 per person. There will be prizes for the winners! Meet at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.
Sunday 6th October Skittles at the Black Horse, Findon. 7.30pm start. Please contact Glyn if you would like to go.
Tuesday 8th October Breakaway’s AGM on Club Night at the John Selden. This will start at 8.45pm sharp, so that we can get back to our usual Club Night activities as soon as possible. Doors open from 8pm until 10.45pm. If you would like to join the Committee, please let Enid know as soon as possible, so that she can give you a nomination form. It would be nice to have at least one more member on the Committee, as we are a bit short at the moment. If you have anything you would like to raise at the AGM, could you please put it in writing and hand it to any Committee Member, at least two weeks before the AGM, so that the Committee can address the issue or put it on the Agenda. Usual raffle, door prize, Snowball and Disco music will resume after the AGM has ended.
Tuesday 15th October ‘Horsey’ Racing Game on Club Night at the John Selden. Doors open from 8pm until 10.45pm. Better wear your lucky hat tonight, as we cheer on our chosen ‘horse’. With bets pegged at £1 per time, you can’t lose your shirt, and who knows, you might be a winner – after all, someone has to! There will still be plenty of time for dancing to the music of one of our own DJs. Usual raffle, door prize and Snowball.
Friday 18th October Darts Nightin the upstairs bar at the Charles Dickens at the John Selden. Please come along even if your name is not down. Meet at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Cost £1pp, which goes into the prizes, or you can just come along to watch and socialise.
Tuesday 22nd October Club Night at the John Selden. Doors open 8pm until 10.45pm. Tonight we have all night to chat to friends and dance to the music of one of our own DJs. Usual raffle, door prize and Snowball.
Friday 25th October Arun Solos Disco at Arundel Cricket Club. Cheap drinks and a popular venue with Breakaway members. Starts 8pm until 11.30pm. Cost £7 on the door.
Tuesday 29th October Halloween Party Night on Club Night at the John Selden. Doors open from 8pm until 10.45pm. Be a devil and dress up if you dare! Come along and join in the fun, as witches and wizards, ghosts, ghouls and monsters mix it up on the dance floor, to the music of one of our very own devilishly good DJs! Nasty nibbles, raffle, door prize and Snowball. Fancy dress is of course optional. Collect your November Programme tonight.

Wednesday 13th November Lunch and Greyhound Racing at Hove Greyhound Stadium, Nevill Road, Hove, BN3 7BZ. £9 for one course, £12 for two courses, £15 for three courses. Please see the poster on the noticeboard for more details. Richard needs a £9 deposit by Tuesday, September 24th, to confirm the booking.
Sunday 17th November Visit to Hove Museum with Hilary. Meet 1.50pm. See poster or contact Hilary for more details.
Tuesday 26th November Hilary’s Beer/Lager label Picture Quiz on Club Night at the John Selden.

Notice is hereby given to all members to make investigation and enquiry of venues and events after which members shall decide whether or not they wish to attend and accept any risk there may be to such attendance.
